The Clinical Application of Arts Psychotherapy in Autistic Disorder

Abstract
This study examined the meaning of arts psychotherapy through philosophical ground that can help promote the understanding of individual distinctiveness along with the common characteristics of the pursued five ideal vision of human from the perspective of understanding the human through arts psychotherapy. Based on the results of the exploration regarding the application measures to ensure the expansion of application of arts psychotherapy as a means of the therapy for autistic disorder and the mediation, the following conclusions were drawn: First, it is necessary to clarify the methods and processes of diagnosis and evaluation that considers the characteristics of arts psychotherapy mediation.
Second, programs for arts psychotherapy need to be developed which has clear goals and is easier to ensure that children can have easy access to it in the ecological environment of children with autistic disorder, such as school, home, community, etc, rather than being provided at specific place and time. Third, mediation and therapies with validated effect, interconnective programs, and application programs should be developed. Fourth, measures should be explored to apply them to the curriculum. Fifth, programs should be developed which consider the characteristics of individual children, such as the presence of mental disorder, characteristics of the sensible reaction, the stage of growth and development, and others.
